Laura Gibson

Laura completed a dance degree at Liverpool John Moores University in 2000, and has spent the past ten years working with a number of professional and community organisations.
In 2005 Laura became a founding member of Two Thirds Sky, performing in all of the company’s work to date, including “The Size of Thought” (2005), “Svadebka” (2007) and “Traits” (2008).
In January 2009 Laura worked on a feature for the BBC3 series ‘Tough Guy or Chicken’ as a dancer for the company.
Laura is key contemporary technique teacher at Stella Mann College of Performing Arts, Leicester College of Performing Arts, and London Junior and Senior ballet. She also teaches choreography and technique at the University of Bedfordshire. In addition, since 2003, Laura has worked with the Richard Alston Dance Company delivering workshops across the country. In 2008 Laura co-authored ‘Bright Sparks’, a dance resource pack for primary and secondary teachers launched by Youth Dance England.
As a principle artist with Bedfordshire Youth Dance Company Laura has worked on ACE funded projects with Henri Oguike and Arc Dance. Laura’s recent work with BYDC was chosen to be part of the “Rumble” Youth Dance Festival at The Peacock Theatre, London.
